Coming Soon: Saving The Night Caller, a New Wildlife Documentary on the Eastern Whip-poor-will

Post-production is now underway on Saving The Night Caller, an immersive new wildlife documentary that takes audiences deep into the nocturnal world of the Eastern Whip-poor-will—one of Canada’s most mysterious and threatened bird species.

Produced by WorkCabin Films in collaboration with Long Point Biosphere Region and Long Point Walsingham Forest Priority Place, the film follows a dedicated research team from the University of Waterloo as it studies Whip-poor-wills in the dense forests of Norfolk County, Ontario, Canada. With its signature in-the-field, as-it-happens storytelling and breathtaking cinematography, Saving The Night Caller brings viewers face-to-face with the challenges of tracking and understanding these elusive birds.

Co-produced by Gregg McLachlan and Cynthia Brink, the documentary offers a rare glimpse into the fascinating life of this nocturnal species while shedding light on the urgent conservation efforts needed to protect it.

Also featured in the documentary are wildlife biologists from Birds Canada.

The official trailer for Saving The Night Caller will be released in March 2025. Stay tuned for updates as the film takes shape!
