The film recently reached broadcast audiences on PBS in Michigan, but we’re just getting started. Our goal is ambitious but simple: to help conservation organizations collectively raise $10,000 for their own conservation programs, projects, and initiatives through fundraising screenings of the film. Participating organizations have already generated nearly one-third of that total.

Saving The Night Caller is an award-winning short documentary that follows the efforts of researchers from Birds Canada, the Long Point Bird Observatory, and the University of Waterloo as they work to better understand and conserve the Eastern Whip-poor-will, one of North America’s most iconic nocturnal birds. Through stunning cinematography and intimate storytelling, the film takes viewers into the forests and field sites where science and conservation intersect, revealing the challenges facing this declining species and the dedicated people working to ensure its haunting nighttime call remains part of our natural heritage for generations to come.
