Conservation video project in Central Ontario

In October 2019, I made the trip to King Township, Ontario for a conservation video project with the Nature Conservancy of Canada. The country’s leading national land conservation organization hired WorkCabin Creative to film a volunteer event in Happy Valley Forest.

Park Bus, the city-to-parks transportation service, brought volunteers from Toronto help spend the day pulling invasive garlic mustard in this protected forest. Garlic mustard is highly invasive and changes the soil composition to such an extent that it inhibits the growth of native species. Seeds can stay dormant for up to seven years, further complicating the eradication of this destructive plant.

The day was spent filming a variety of scenes of the event, as well as forest footage, and interview footage.
